I get many questions asking, "Why my (your) Youtube channel Isn't growing," or something along the lines of that. I'll also see comments about not having enough money and time to start and grow a successful YouTube channel. Today I list the top 3 reasons I believe your YouTube channel may not be growing because of.

Here is a method of growing your YouTube channel I found. You can use this to promote your YouTube videos and collaborate with other content creators! http://youtu.be/XmM2sirFZPc
1) Bad Content / Videos
When starting a YouTube channel, people would like to say their videos are good, but you have to step back and audit yourself. How are your videos (content-wise) compared to the competition? Would you watch your own videos? Would someone with similar interests to you watch your videos? You have to think about that.
I'm not saying you have to get a lot of money and buy expensive equipment. I'm saying, why should people watch your videos? Are you providing them value? Entertainment? Teaching them something? What is the raw value of your videos? You may think your content is good, but remember that anyone in your genre / niche probably started out doing exactly what you're doing right now, and have improved through the years. There is always room for improvement.
2) "Sub4Sub" / Spamming in Comment Sections
Almost everyone you know on YouTube has started on YouTube by doing "sub4sub." Almost everyone who has done it, and knows even just a little bit of how YouTube works knows that you should stop immediately if you're doing it right now.
When you do sub4sub you have to realize that the person subscribing is not going to watch your videos, similarly how you probably aren't going to watch theirs. You should stop focusing on numbers (subscribers, views, likes, comments etc..) and look at how good your content is and its production quality. Make your content the reason why people subscribe to you, not because you ask them to.
3) Making Excuses: No money, equipment, parents, time etc..
When you start a YouTube channel, with aspirations of having a successful one, you need to realize that it is not easy. Recording, editing, and rendering will take up hours and hours of your time. No one really big on YouTube made it based purely on luck. Stop making excuses about things that are controllable. You don't have money to buy YouTube equipment for your channel? Get a job. Don't have equipment? Use your phone, tablet, you're reading this on something. Don't have time? Make time by giving up some of your leisure time. Stop watching a lot of TV shows, stop playing as many games. Your parents won't allow you? Record videos at school, or at a library. There is nothing that can stop you from point A to point B. But first, you have to actually start.
